Due to climate change, “extreme rain” in Taiwan occurs more often. Plus, the fragile geology in Taiwan causes the floods. This type of rain also increases the days that lack water. If this condition happens frequently, it may influence the development of semiconductor because the process of producing semiconductor needs lots of water. Extreme rain also make the quality of groundwater lower, part of which is drinking water. For example, the research of climate change and groundwater shows that after rainy season and extreme rain, the amount of Escherichia coli will increase. For some residents who drink groundwater, it is a concerned problem.
When sea level rise, floods in coastal area are more serious and the times of sea intrusion increase. Ocean warming leads to the decrease of fish and coral bleaching.
