CILT/BRAZIL-BRASÍLIA-3B-TEACHER: CRISTINA LOURENÇO

I got Surprised when I found that if everyone lived like me, we wouldn't need a new planet. It's possible to reduce the production of CO2 using fewer the car, using most the public transport. I coudn't reduce the consumption of food and drink. If everyone sew his ecological footprint, everyone would see we would need several planets to support humanity living the same way he lives, this would be shocking and would make several people change their lifestyle, people would consume less meat go to school or work by bike.

    Hi Joao,

Thank you for sharing your findings. I did the carbon footprint test myself and I was surprised at how high it was for me because I consciously make a lot of efforts to reduce my environmental impact such as taking public transit, eating mostly vegetarian etc. I think mine was high because I live in China and I travel a lot and traveling home to Canada is quite far. I don't really want to change my travel plans but I see now this is something I need to think about. I am sharing this with you because I imagine that a lot of people would feel that they don't want or need to change their habits even if they had a large footprint. What do you think we could do to help motivate people more? How do you think these simulations relate to your community? Do you think people in your community would have similar results?

    Allison

No, in my community I think thenselves ecological footprint is high. I talk ever day with my neigbors about a enviroment and How we can change! But they don't listen me, I plant trees in my school but have many people don't interest in the enviroment or in ourselves, they think this is for me but the enviroments is for all people and we need cure the enviroment.

    Thank you for your comment!
