I think of this as probing and pushing students to use the tools, information, and skills that they have to find answers to questions that they have. I think back to a course I took where we learned that some questions we need to ask need to be open-ended, inquire deeper learning, and critical thinking skills.

I love the idea of pushing students to find answer to their own questions. I've had many teachers to do this where they would answer my question with a question and I hated it at the time. However, now I see that this can offer a more in depth learning of the topic and also allows for me to learn ways to find answers to my own questions and learn even more.

I like the idea of letting students form and answer their own questions. I am still a student and find that I still do this in order to better understand difficult concepts sometimes. I can also see why a teacher would do it, to better understand where the different students are as far as understanding of the material goes.
